Though the lyrics might make sense in English alone, the real meaning is only clear for those who speak both English and Portuguese. The pun lies in the expression “for demons”, which in Portuguese can be understood as “fodemos”, what means “we fuck”. Watch the lyric video above with closed captions enabled to discover the song’s real meaning.

This song is a tribute to Brazilian band Massacration, and features their singer Detonator as guest. Massacration was a satiric band created by a TV Show from MTV Brazil, whose songs were written predominantly in English, but contained messed up words derived from Portuguese in a way one would have to speak both languages to understand their meanings.

Lyrics:

For demons your life
For demons your soul
Death and sacrifice
For demons “aruê aruô”

For demons a cat
For demons the cow
Head of the bat
For demons all now

For demons without you
For demons with you
For demons inside you
For demons you’re cool

We begin the ritual
For demons with our pals
With sacrifice for demons
And metal for you all

We begin the ritual
For demons with our pals
With sacrifice for demons
Metal!
For all!
For all!

For demons underground
For demons in the sky
For demons all around
For demons till you die

For demons under bed
For demons even dead
For demons everywhere
For demons in your head

Smart demons, fool demons
Demons of fools
All kinds of demons
For them you’re cool

We begin the ritual
For demons with our pals
With sacrifice for demons
And metal for you all

We begin the ritual
For demons with our pals
With sacrifice for demons
Metal!
For all!

For them your body
For them your soul
For them your life
For them you’re so cool
For them you’re so cool
For them you’re so cool
For them you’re cool

Credits:

Release Date: July 7, 2017

Saulo “XAKOL” Castilho – bass, backing vocals
Detonator (and/or Bruno Sutter) – lead vocals, backing vocals
Rafael Azevedo – guitars
André Freitas – guitar solo
Ivan Beretta – keyboards
Mauro Borghezan – drums

Instruments recorded at Estúdio Beretta, Florianópolis, Brazil
Lead vocals recorded at Silver Tape Studio, Balneário Camboriú, Brazil
Mixed and mastered by Ivan Beretta
Produced by Ivan Beretta & Saulo Castilho

Artwork by Eduardo Francisco

Music and lyrics written by Saulo “Xakol” Castilho between January and April 2005.

Metal for Demons Story – Lyrics – Credits Please, enable CC! About: This is NOT a satanic song, it is a satire.
